Mike Coleman (GK)

An original member of the team, and former manager, this reliable defender stepped into the position between the posts after the departure of the irreplaceable cult goalie Richard Evans, at the beginning of 2000. Ex-Shane teacher, now a university and private English teacher. A West Ham fan. Won 'The Best After Match Drinker Award' last year.

Matt Watson (DF)

Another ex-Shane teacher, now a High School employee, this Southampton fan has enjoyed a marvellous time at the club. Strong, solid and fit, he is one of the traditional ball-playing, buccaneering centre-halves of yore. At Kanto since 1998, he won 'The Most Committed Player Award' in 1999.

James Street (DF)

A new signing in 2000, this former Rotherham Youth player has proved to be a quality find. Technically gifted and cool-headed, he is an ideal partner for the more marauding Watson, controlling the defence with aplomb. A Sheffield Utd fan.

Chris Jennings (DF)

CJ had a nervous start to his Kanto career in 1998, but has steadily improved to become a vital defensive link, winning 'The Most Improved Player Award' in 1999. A very fit and hard-working statistician who supports 'Total' Football and Watford.

Alisdair Scrimgeour (DF)

Another 2000 starter, who previously had a spell living in New Zealand, Scrimgeour is a Bristol City fan. His positional sense and vision make him a unique full-back, also un-rivalled in his expertise of sporting trivia.

Alex Yardley (MF)

This left-footed versitility man is the only member of the team to have played in every position (including goalkeeper), and always with great success. His commitment, work-rate and skill led him to be voted 'The Players' Player of the Year' in 1999, which was thoroughly deserved. Another ex-manager, he is A Manchester Utd fan, who joined in 1998.

Alan Hill (MF)

Player/Manager Hill is another original member of the team, who adds the creative edge to the attacks. A tireless worker with good ball skills and vision, he is also deadly from set-pieces. A Plymouth Argyle fan, he succeeded Mike Coleman as manager in 1999, and has taken the team to new heights, due partly to his strict coaching drills.

Dave Leverick (MF)

New in 1999, this Ukrainian descendent won 'Player of the Year' in his maiden season with some intelligent and committed displays in the middle of the park. Recent family responsibilities have limited his current availability. A Liverpool fan. Now a High-School teacher.

Neil Willis (MF)

New in 2000, this Middlesbrough native and fan has both youth and enthusiasm on his side. Highly gifted on and off the ball, he has linked well to add another dimension to both the creative and the striking side of the team.

Martin Hill (MF)

A long-distance runner who is the fittest member of the side. Works very well off the ball, has a blistering shot and is good in the air. A Director of Studies for Shane in Higashi-Kanto, and a supporter of the now defunct Maidstone Utd.

Jerry Colthup (MF)

Named after an instrument of war, this versatile member of the team is equally at home in any position where he creates good space and opportunities for others with his stylish, intelligent approach. Another High-School teacher, he joined early in 2000. A Reading fan.

Paul Noel (MF)

Came on as a substitute on July 9th 2000, to start his Kanto career and showed great potential with a desire to take on players with some fine ball skills. A Manchester Utd fan.

Hamish Daya (MF)

New this season, pony-tailed and versatile, he can fill in any position accordingly. His laid-back approach and character have made him many admirers. An Aston Villa fan.

James Knight (FW)

Won 'The Golden Boot' in 1999 for his stream of goals. A lightning-quick forward with an eye for goal, he made his Kanto debut in 1996 after starting his career with Higashi-Kanto. A Director of Studies at Shane, he supports Wycombe Wanderers.

Brian Malone (FW)

Another High-School teacher, he is the brother-in-law of Matt Watson, who joined in 1999. A persistent, hard-working forward, who combines flair and speed with determination to produce a high tally of goals, and all-round performances. Also a Liverpool fan. Voted 'Best New Player' last term.

Paul Dobson (FW)

New in 2000, this Arsenal fan has added a new dimension to the strike force. Powerful and determined, he creates good chances and has an all-round eye for the game. Once a trialist with Southampton.

Roberto Rabbini (FW)

Another original member who has featured only occasionally over the past few years due to family commitments. A High-School teacher and Tottenham fan, this skilful and pacy forward always adds his Italian style to the team.

Masa Sasaki (MF)

Occasional guest for Kanto, he is still a Junior High School student, and a member of a local professional team's youth structure. He is unpeturbed by sharing the stage with bigger, stronger players two or three times his age, he is quick-thinking, quick-footed and highly skilful, well-liked and admired by all, and set surely for a big future in the game.
